Hearts to Home

Helping Our Troops in Iraq Phone Home!

Hearts to Home is a troop support program conceived of and designed by a senior at Bronxville High School in Bronxville, N.Y. As a member of the Bronxville Youth Council, the school’s community service club, he initiated the troop support program prior to Valentine’s Day 2008. With inspiration from photos of soldiers at Camp Bucca in Iraq which he saw on a local village web site, and advice from a soldier stationed at the Camp, he decided to focus his support on fundraising to buy prepaid phone cards to send to soldiers so they can call home more easily on holidays and all during their time in Iraq. Each 300 minute phone card costs $18.  They are shipped directly to a soldier at Camp Bucca for distribution to the troops.
